Word cannot find the hyphenation file

when opening some DOC files I am getting a message
"Word cannot find the hyphenation file mshy3RU.dll for Russian"
If I click OK, it ptoceeds with the opening and everything goes fine as if
that file is not needed.
What is that hyphenation file ?

It's the file needed to hyphenate Russian text. Presumably the documents
you're opening contain text that is either in Russian or is formatted as
Russian in Tools | Language | Set Language. I suspect you wouldn't get the
message if automatic hyphenation were disabled, and if you're not trying to
write *or* hyphenate in Russian, then you don't need the .dll.

G'day <aa>,

when a long word gets the end of the line, we dis-
associate the parts with a -, as in the example
just given. This is hyphenation.

You might want to see Word's Help topics "Hyphenate text" and "Hyphenate
text in another language."

Thank, English is not my mother tongue but I see now.
Indeed that what you call hyphenation, indeed has complicated rules in
Russian, and apply to every words of more then one syllable and 4 letters.

I would suggest that you post in microsoft.public.word.spelling.grammar to
attract the attention of people who will be able to answer your question.
