Word cannot fire event

Why do I get the Word cannot fire event message when I open certain
documents? I just have to click OK and then it lets me get on with what
I was doing but it's irritating when I get that message. Anybody have
any thoughts?

We just went though this yesterday. Probably the Adobe PDF thing. m.

Yep. To confirm, removing Acrobat Reader, and reinstalling it, solved
this problem for me. Only difference is that we were getting the
error when closing a document, rather than opening them.
