Please define what you mean by "blocked." What exactly happens when your
applications are "blocked"? What are you doing when it happens?

Blocked means that Excel/word do no respond at all. The screen is freezed and
when I try to end the program by Task Manager, there is a send error report
to Microsoft. Very often I have to close my computer.

Word/Excel do not respond to what, though, Lindsay? What are you doing -- or
trying to do -- when the applications stop responding.

When I try to open a file on Excel or Word.

Can you open Word or Excel without opening a file? That is, if you go to
Start|All Programs|Word (or Excel), do they open?

Have you tried Start|Control Panel|Add-Remove Programs -- you can select
Office then click Change, and then choose Repair.

If you're using Norton Antivirus, you can try disabling the Office plug-in.

If those don't work, then you might want to call Microsoft support.
