I just purchased the latest version of office for mac. When I tried to
send a copy of my resume to my friend (word document), he apparently
was unable to open my attachment with his version of word. Does
anyone know what older versions of word are able to view documents
created by the new version of word for OS X?

MacWord 98/2001 and v.X can read Word v.X files

WinWord 97/2000/2002/2003 can read Word v.X files.
