Word Formatting problems

S

Sandy M.

We have a user who stores all of his Word docs on his
c:\drive. Sometime last week, the formatting seems to
have gotten corrupted. This is on all of his Word docs.

There are page breaks where there shouldn't be.

We have uninstalled and re-installed Office 2000. Put
on SP3. That did not help, so we uninstalled Office
2000 and installed Office XP. Still no help.

We have renamed the normal.dot file.

We can open these .docs on another system with Office 2000
SP3 and they look fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sandy M

Sandy,

Document format is also affected by the installed printer
and associated driver. Whenever either is changed,
document format changes as you are seeing may occur. Has
either the printer or associated driver been modified?

Check the default printer on both/all machines. The
document is formatted on the screen based on the printer
selected.

Good luck,
Kent
