Word & PDF Documents not printing out but other types do print out

P

Paul

My laptop pc is a Toshiba T5500 and my printer is a Brother MFC-620CN
directly connected by USB.

Previously I have always used Word 97 and been able to send docs to my
printer without any problems. A while ago when I tried to do this I just
got a very brief 'Receiving Document' message on my printer screen but then nothing else happened. I therefore decided to upgrade to WORD 2003. but it still won't print out any Word documents and now won't print out any PDF documents.

My printer does however, print out emails; Works documents and Excel
documents without any problem.

I would be most grateful if anyone could help me to resolve this problem.

Many thanks,

Paul

P,

I think I have a similar problem. The computer has the following
components:
a.. Word 2003
b.. Windows xp Home
c.. HP Photosmart 4380 Printer
I've tried:
a.. chkdsk /f
b.. uninstalling/reinstalling Word
c.. uninstalling/reinstalling all the printer S/W
d.. sfc /scanow
e.. MicroSoft knowledge base
f.. temporarily disabling Zone Alarm
Nothing seems out of the ordinary except that Word crashes (with no
error) message when print is selected. The document is a simple text
document with 1 line of text. As with your print problem, I can also print
from web pages, e-mail and test pages.

Apparently this computer WAS printing nicely before, either a ZoneLabs
update or a MicroSoft update (all updates are installed).

Any help would be appreciated...!
