Word Picture not editable

G

Georg Biehler

I have the following problem since using Word 2003 (under Word XP and other
versions the stuff worked).
After inserting an Object of type "Word Picture" in a Word Document the
picture is editable a certain number of times. However after some random time
some of the pictures can no longer be opened for editing. The status bar
shows "Double-Click to edit"; however double-clicking on the picture shows no
effect at all; right click on the picture , selecting "Object" shows the box
"The object is corrupt or no longer available".
Since I'm heavily using Word Pictures in my documents, the behavior is very,
very annoying. I need help / a fix immediately for the problem.

Who is able to help me?

Thanks in advance
Georg

I have exactly the same problem, but unfortunately, no solution. Hope someone
else has some idea.

Hi Georg,

There were similar issues in Word 97 and 2000
but I hadn't seen it in Word 2003.

What version of Windows and SP of Windows are
you using?

Was Word 2003 an upgrade or new on this machine?

Are you running any add-ins with Word or any
3rd party security or firewall options?

Do you get the same behavior if you start Word
in Office Safe Mode (hold ctrl key when starting
Word)?

Were there any recent changes or installations to
hardware on software on your PC?
