Word saves as a read only file

Running Windows XP and Office 2000. We create a Word file
and save it to my documents, then send it to a disk and
then try to open it from the disk, it says it was saved
as a Read Only file and can't be changed. How do we set
these files to not save as Read Only?

If you are saving to a CD then it may end up as being R/O. You might also
have a macro virus.

It's also unwise to open documents directly from a floppy diskette (or save
directly to one) as that will quickly cause file and disk corruption.
