Word shortcut

Hi,

Is there anyone who can solve the following problem?

I save many of my Word documents on the (Windows) desktop. When I
double-click one of these shortcuts, the document opens in Word.

The other day I did something wrong, I don't know what, but the icons
of the Word shortcuts took on a different shape and colour. I tried to
sort this out, but failed. In the end I selected a Word shortcut, held
down Shift and right-clicked it. I then chose Open with and selected
WinWord in the Open with box. I also ticked the check box Always use
this program .….. The Word shortcut looks all right again, but when I
now click a Word shortcut on the desktop Word opens without displaying
the document.

My question is: how can I get the Word shortcuts back to normal, so
that the document will be opened in Word?

Thanks,

Jason

Open the Run dialog box (Start, Run) and type in the below command line
and press Enter.

Winword.exe /r

This re-registers Word. However, if you have customizations in the File
types dialog box (for example, having Word open file types other than
Word), this will wipe them out.
