Word unexpectedly quits

I've been using Office for Mac nearly a year. Applications have unexpectedly quit before (mainly safari) though not very often. Today Word quit unexpectedly several times, after trying to insert bullets. I think this may have something to do with a list style which I added to the list of established styles, so that it would be available in all word documents I opened.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Have you installed the latest update that was released today for Office
2004?

Also, have you installed the latest update for Mac OS X (10.4.11)?

Also, remember that you're using rosetta, it'll get things done, but don't
expect 100% perfection.

Hi Asher -

If Word is quitting while in use there are several possible reasons. Have a
look at the information on that subject which is here:

http://word.mvps.org/mac/Diagnose.html

My instincts tell me you may be on the right track since Word is *very*
finicky when it comes to list styles. The first thing I'd try after the
"Most Likely" on that site would be to rename your Normal template (while
Word isn't running) & let Word build a new one when you launch again. If
that resolves the issue you'll know that the style was at least a
contributing factor.

One of the best resources for this type of style is:

http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/

Particularly the information on Outline Numbering - which must be done
exactly as specified there.
