Word won't save

Word 2000 version ... Word works normallly but will not
save or save as ... have reinstalled office to no avail
after a short time it also suggests that autosave will not
work ... when closing word after 'not saving'a dialog box
requests whether you wish to make global changes to your
normal template

A macro virus is one possibility.

I have run into a similar problem. I am unable to open
any saved documents in Office XP with similar error
message. I seem to be missing my normal.dot macro. Any
idea what is going on?

We had this at work. Try installing the updates from the
MS website. This fixed our bug.
