wordmail doesn't work

I loaded office xp on my computer at work. I like Word as my default email
editor so I set that in outlook, but when you try and compose it says word
can not be found and defaults to outlook editor. If I go into Word and try
and start new email it says email envelope could not be found or loaded,
may be problem with office configuration. Same if I try to use Send to
mail recipient. I tried reload of office and office service pack. no luck.
I noticed that one of the other computers in the office has same trouble
so I suspect this is common and hope someone has an easy fix. Anyone?

I am having the same problem with Office 2003. Very frustrating.

Do you have the same versions of Word and Outlook?

Thanks for that. I don't think the open outlook before word thing works
though. I didn't add any COM add in either but I'll try not using that.
How could I remove the COM add-in or even see if there is one.

Same problem here, both of mine are the 2000 version. Did you ever get an
answer?
