Work on Saturdays?!

Anahita

Hi all,
If for a specific project you want to work on Saturdays
too, how do you put that in the Project? Our calendar is
standard but we have a project that we have to work on the
weekends too and Project keeps changing the dates and
giving me error messages about the duration and conflicts.
I don’t want to change the Global Template, its only one
project that requires work on Saturdays and Sundays for a
couple of weeks. How do I force Saturdays as working days
to the Project?
Thanks in advanced
Anahita

Hi Anahita,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Tools/Change Working Time... select the Standard (Project calendar), click
on the S for Saturday and then the radio button Non default working time.
You might also like to see FAQ Item: 5. Default Working Hours. FAQs,
companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this
web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

Thank you Gary, it worked.

Anahita:

You have several choices:

1) Create a new enterprise calendar and apply it to the project
2) You can create a new local base calendar and apply it to the project, but
you must have allowed local base calendars in Project Server
3) Create a task calendar and apply it to the affected tasks.
