works and automatic saving

K

Kathleen

I have spent a very frustrating afternoon, having just
lost a great chunk of my book because the computer didn't
save the text after the last instruction to save and
didn't ask if I wanted to save changes as is usual. This
computer is new and uses Works 7.0. My old one used to
use Word for Windows and save without me asking it to,
and if the whole thing crashed I could always find it in
the file menu. Is there any way I can find what I've lost?
Have I been sold some inferior rubbish? Where is there a
button that will allow me to ask the computewr to save
everything from now on?

I am so cross I could cry!

You'll need to post this in the Works NG, microsoft.public.works.win, but I
doubt that Works has any provision for "automatic" saving any more than Word
does, though if it is allowing you to close a file without saving, there is
something wrong, and I wonder if a virus might be involved.
