works database to access database

I have a colleague (at a distant location) who is using
the Works database feature and is trying to develop a
small database. She would like me to look at it and
assist, but I only have Access 2000.

Is there anyway I can read her files and still leave her
files in a format that she will still be able to read
when it loaded back on her machine?

To move data from a Works database into Access, you export
the data to either dBASE (*.dbf) or text (*.txt) file
format, and then import the data into Access using the
appropriate format. Unlike text format, the dBASE format
preserves most field names. If you do import a text file
into Access, you can either define field names in the
Import Text Wizard, or modify the default field names in
Design view of the table. Check here for additional info:
