Wrong os or os version application. What do I do?

Unable to use microsoft word. I report the message. I says I need Office
2000 service release 1A(sr-1a) It suggest that i load Windows Installer. I
do that and it comes up with a error message (Wrong os or os version
application) I tried to down load Office 2000 service release 1A(sr-1a).
It asks for the cd-rom which I have in place and it still does not work.
Help!!!

I assume you mean Windows XP. Those two will work together. Are you making
sure that you have all of the appropriate updates for Windows?

Could you provide us with the exact error messages you are
encountering please? Also, if you Repair the Office installation do
you still encounter errors?
