xp-home and outlook 97 - does it work together???

JUST PURCHASED A NEW DELL PC WITH XP-HOME - CAN'T GET
OUTLOOK 97 - TO RUN AND EVEN GIVE ME THE INFORMATION TO
LOAD THE OLD DATA FOR EMAIL - NEED HELP - THANKS

Don't use caps!

Outlook 97 does work on XP but make sure you are working as an administrator
to have the least problems possible. There are quite some issues so don't
expect it to run smoothly. Outlook 97 never has been officially supported by
Windows XP.

The message you are getting is probably if you want to import from other
mail programs like Outlook Express. If you have mail stored in Outlook
Express and you want it to be available in Outlook 97 choose import.
