XP/Outlook/Exchange 5.5 over VPN

Hi

Does anyone know how to connect a Windows XP machine to
MS Exchange over VPN. W98/W2K both seem to connect ok
(W98 after releasing the IP info) but with XP i can only
ping the exchange server. Outlook hangs when i attempt to
connect to it over VPN.??

This generally indicates a dns/wins name resolution issue. what happens
when you put the exchange server name and ip address in the machines
host/lmhost files?
