I get the error message "The path Microsoft Office XP Pro
cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this
location and try again or try to find installation
package "PRORET.MSI" in folder from which you can install
the product Microsoft Office Professional.

Hi, Gordon,

Please post back with what you're trying to do and how, what operating
system you have, and what you tried to resolve the problem. Did you try to
insert the original Office XP installation CD when prompted?

Hi Gordon and Susan,

I just posted this same message Gordon did. I have
downloaded the update from microsoft, inserted my disc of
office XP Professional with FrontPage 2002, and my system
gives me the same message it gave Gordon, "proplus.msi"
installation information not found!
Help!

Hi, Diane,

So, you're trying to patch Office XP Pro? Are you sure that you're
inserting the original CD that you used to install with?

If so...here is an article that may help, but I'm not sure:

325089 - OFFXP: You Are Prompted for the CD for a Product Other Than the
Patch You Are Installing:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;325089

Have you applied any patches at all? Was this an upgraded Office
installation, or have you updated your Operating System lately?

I am trying to update my XP Office Pro with a download I
have the Windows XP Pro operating system. I did insert
the original Office XP installation CD. That is when I
get the message. It downloads and gets started
installing when that message pops up. Does this help
clarify my situation?

Some added information...the following is one of the
downloads that will not install. I trust this helps
some...

Word 2002 Security Patch: KB830346

Hi, Gordon,

See the response to Diane in this same message thread. Hopefully that
article will help.
