year not starting at month 1

Why does the year not start witht he month on the timescale? The year begins
at month -2? i"m using today as the project start date. Im using the
timescalse to be "from start"

You are probably referring to the fiscal year.

Fiscal year is set to Jan.
But in the i'm using the timescalse to be "from start" for both Year and
Month, so it should be coincident. They are not.

Michael,
OK, what is the Project Start Date? If the Project Start Date is set for
3/1/06 for example but the first task is 1/1/06 with a Constraint Type
of "start-no-earlier-than", or has progress that fixes its start date,
then you will also get the timescale offset you describe.
