Office 2003 Pro SP2

I am trying to install any recent update for Officce 2003 but keep getting
error 1603 Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - Update
'Office 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2): MAINSP2ff' could not be installed. Error
code 1603. Additional information is available in the log file
C:\DOCUME~1\Simon\LOCALS~1\Temp\OHotfix\OHotfix(00005)_Msi.log. I have looked
at the log but can't determine the fault.
This is just the latest. I am similarly unable to install SP2. I would
appreciate any suggestions.

See if your permissions are set appropriately:

You receive an "error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation"
error message when you try to install a Windows Installer package:
