800+ page publication

My document is so big that Publisher keeps freezing.
How can I split it into more manageable, smaller publications?

You might get away with keeping the file as is by turning off the detailed
display. View, pictures.

Or start deleting pages, save the result as a new file. If you have 2007 you can
delete several pages at once by pressing shift and selecting the page tabs on
the status bar. If the pages aren't consecutive press control and select.

Deleting isn't really an option...I'd prefer to copy paste into another
document. But at this point, I can't even convert to PDF because it's too
big.

File>Print...choose PDF as your printer and then select print pages 1-25

repeat this 26-50, 51-75 etc. until you have sections of 25 pages each

If you wish, you can insert all of the other sections back into 1 PDF
document (Adobe Acrobat PDF) but I suggest not as this will slow everything
down.
