a picture in a word doc only appears during print preview

I have a file with a picture near the top (letterhead). The picture does not
appear during the normal view, but appears for print preview.

If the picture is formatted as other than "inline with text" (Word 2002
or 2003) or as "float over text" (Word 97), then it won't be visible in
Normal view, but it should be visible in Print Layout view and Print
Preview if certain options are set correctly. In Word, click on Tools |
Options | View | check the "Drawings" box and uncheck the "Picture
placeholders" box | Print | check the "Drawing objects" box | OK.
