I am using an Access 200 database for CBT courseware.
Occasionally the courseware fails to open the database,
and returns a "cannot find database" error. When I try to
open the database manually, I get an error from Access
saying the db is damaged, would you like to repair it?
When clicking "yes", it says it cannot be opened because
it is opened exclusively by "admin" user on <computer
name> computer. It's always the same user (admin) and
always the same computer, even though that user is not
logged in, and the computer is OFF. When all users
finally get logged off the database, I am able to repair
it and all is fine again until the next time it fails. I
can tell when I will be able to open and repair the
database because the file named "Access.LockFile.9" goes
away. What, exactly, is that file anyway??
