action : draw red cross over text

Hi,

how would i do this?

i have my text, and when i click, i want a word to get a red cross over it

Do i have to create an image and position it carefully on the word and add
the action to the image...
or is there a better way?

Sort of, yes.

But trigger animations would serve you better:

Trigger animations work only in PowerPoint 2002 and 2003.

You are right on track, draw your red cross (if you draw using the line tool
be sure to group the two lines).
Now add an entrance effect to your red cross. Activate the custom animation
taskpane, click on add effect, choose entrance, select the effect you want
e.g. appear. The red cross will appear when you click. If necessary you can
also add an exit effect to make it disappear afterwards.
All of this in PPT2002/2003 of course. Post back if you have another version
of Powerpoint.
