I saved a baseline for my project. Then, I went in and updated a task
with an actual complete date of two days past the target date. Then I
went into the work view on the sheet of the Gantt Chart view.
According to the Help, this should show a variance in the work time
based on the difference between actual and baseline time. However it
is not showing any variance at all. Also, why does Project change the
Target Finish date when I change the actual complete time? The target
shouldn't change, IMHO. That was the target and just because the
project slipped doesn't mean that it should change. I.e. rather than
pushing the remaining schedule out, it should indicate to us that we
need to make up time in other areas.
