Adding Predecessor task numbers to Tasks Page

R

Rachel

Hi all -

Is there anyway to manipulate the content of the Tasks
page in PWA? A number of my users are requesting that the
page also include the task ID number for any predecessor
tasks to work they are responsible for. I have not yet
found a way to manipulate the content of the Tasks page.

Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Rachel --

If your people want to see the task ID number on the Tasks page in Project
Web Access, this can be done. Simply do the following:

1. Open a project that has already been published
2. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields...
3. In the Published Fields dialog box, copy the ID field from the left side
to the right side and then click OK
4. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and then click OK
5. Repeat this process for every project that has been published
6. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for any project that has been planned but not yet
published

When you complete these steps, the ID column will be published onto each
resource's Tasks page. Unfortunately, it will appear at the far right end
of the task sheet, so they will manually have to "drag and drop" the ID
column to the far left side of the page. That's how to do it. If you
Senthil's advice about including the WBS field, the steps are identical.
Hope this helps.
