Adding split tasks using a MS Access interface

Hi

Maybe this question has been answered before, but I could not find an answer
anywhere.

Please consider the following, when using Project 2002 Standard:
1 - I create a Project and saves it as a MS Access Database
2 - Now I want to create an Access inteface to enter new tasks to the
Project, but not only do I want to enter tasks with a start and end date. I
also want to be able to enter split tasks through this interface.

My problem is that I can not figure out how split tasks are stored in the
Access database.

Can anyone please explain how split tasks are stored ?

Hi,

Try saving a single task (split) project into a db and see how its done.
Sometimes Project just saves some data in a binary blob that you can't edit.

Also fully digest the Projdb.htm file that is installed in one of Project's
program folders. This shows all available details and is essential for
updating databases.

Hi,

I found that when looking in the Tasks table there is a Binary field, and so
I guess that this is where Project stores the information about split tasks
and their splittings.

Thanks.
