Advising Resources

I am new to Project (2007) so I hope this is not a dumb question. How do I
advise resources of their allocated tasks and if that is possible is there
any way of including the task notes in the message to the resource? I can't
believe a program as sophisticated as Project would not have a simple way of
broadcasting the informaiton.

I have read the comments about work groups and noted the comments about
turning on the email capability in Project 03 and the cessation of support
for this feature after Project 03 but can't find any reference to an
alternate method.

Think of Project as a compute engine. It computes project schedules.
It is not a collaboration tool.
