alt+drag only moves text instead of copying it

I have this really annyoing problem that when I select text and alt-drag it to a new location, it doesn't copy it but moves it instead, althpugh it correctly displays the green plus while doing that.

I don't remember this being the case when I first bought Office 2008, so it might be one of the updates. I do have the same problem on all my machines though, so it's definitely related to Office 08 and/or MacOS 10.5.5.

Any ideas? Am I the only one experiencing this?

I'm finding the same thing here - only in PPt & only for text. Objects
duplicate as they should. I never use this technique for text so I can't say
how long it's been broken & I've seen no other reports on it, but I'm
sending it up the line to MacBU.

I'm finding the same thing. Running PowerPoint 2008, ver. 12.1.3. I get the
green plus sign when I select text, hold down the ALT/Option key and try to
drag text to copy it... but it doesn't copy.

But as Bob said, it does work with entire text boxes or other objects. The
problem is when you try and select text and copy/drag.

Worked okay in PowerPoint 2004. Must be a bug with 2008.

I'll submit feedback to Microsoft as well about this - anybody else
experiencing this problem, please do the same!
