Any way to import PDF files into Visio?

I'm working with floorplans but only have them in pdf format. I've tried
pdf2picture but that didn't really work. Any ideas?

often what happens is that users import the picture onto a background page
and then attempt to draw the visio construct over the top. the two products
use different 'drawing' constructs which are not compatible.

Hi Al,

Can you advise on how to import in as a background page? I don't see any
way to import pdf into Visio. Thanks.

Jeff, I work for the company that makes and sells pdf2picture, and happened
to run across your posting. It's a couple of months old, but perhaps you
still need a solution. You are welcome to email me a sample PDF floorplan,
and I'll see if our software can produce WMF results that do meet your
requirements. It has several options you can tweak.

Has anyone found a way to work with pdf files in Visio? I can import them and
work with them but I am not able to save them. I have tried several times and
have gotten 2 different messages. The first message says that I am out of
memory. This is not the case according to our IT guys. The other message
reads: Visio internal error: #3400 Action 1005: Save as

First try closing and reopening the file. Next try restarting Visio.

None of these actions solve the problem. I am hoping that someone may have
run into this issue.

Thank you.

I've seen the save as problem. The only solution i have found for that
is to select the pdf and then ungroup it so that it is then just a
picture. Obviously after that you can't use it as an object.
