Area Codes when entering numbers

My contacts used to automatically enter the area code - in my case - (918) -
and now it doesn't. How do I get it to automatically enter this when adding
new phones to contacts?

Depends on your operating system. For most, it's Control Panel > Phone and
Modem options...
