Assign resource - no work

Hi,

I am having some problem with one schedule in particular.
I create some tasks and assign resource to them.
But when I assign the resource to some tasks, the work remains 0.
If I assign one resource, the duration and the work should match,
shouldn't it?
Don't matter how many resources I assign to a task, it's work don't
change and still is zero (looks like I didn't assign any resource).

Can anyone help me?

Hi Barbara,

Is the task a fixed duration task and is scheduled for time marked as
non-working time on the resource's calendar?

Tell us a bit more details:
What is the duration of the task?
Have you modified the resources' calendars with non-working time?
Have you contoured the resource's availability?

Adiding to Julie's comments. Do you have automatic calculation turned off?
And FYI, duration would equal work only if the resource is assigned 100%.
If you assigned him at 50%, the work would be half the duration, if you
assigned the resource at 200% the work would be double the duration, etc.
