Hi
I want to use Project to assign the tasks into outlook of
the teammembers. I know it is possible, I know there
is something speical to do.
In my Project config I can see Buttons for
Request Ressource

Check Status
and Database stuff

Could you enlighten me how I can achieve this?
Thanks

Kay - Did you get an answer from anyone? We are trying to
assign tasks from Project thru Outlook - but the
recipient cannot open the e-mail attachment and when they
finally get it open, there is only gubblety-gook.

I'd appreciate you sharing your answer if you get one --
I will too.

Thank you,
Janet

Hi,

Have you run wgsetup.exe on each recipient's PC. Wgsetup.exe is on your
Project CD and can be run on as many PC's as you want (no licensing issue).
For more info read Help on Workgroups.

Wondering if either of you got an answer. I am also
looking for help on this one.

You must run the file "wgsetup.exe" on both the project manager's and the
resource's workstation. This is an Outlook add-in that configures it to
read and write the specific message format that MS Project uses to send its
assigments, etc, and expects in status update replies. You can find the
file in a folder on your Project distribution CD, the exact name of the
folder escapes my memory right now and varies with the version of Project in
any case, but a search on the filename will turn it up. If you don't have
the CD, a search of the MS Knowledge Base will lead you to a downloadble
file. There are no licensing issues involved with it so you can freely
install it on as many resource workstations as you need.
