Attachment Problems

I'm increasing getting a problem sending ordinary Word
Docs (Word 2000) in that some recipients say they are
getting only a Winmail.dat attachment that they cannot
open of course. I then Reply to them and re-send, and
they can read OK. What can this be? Anyone know?
Thanks. I'm not sending anything from a temp file at all.

Goto Tools-> Options-> Mail Format and set the format to Plain Text or HTML.
RTF-format is only supported by Outlook and causes the attachment when
received in another mailclient.
