Auto Date Feature

Don Gaither

My auto-date feature doesn't work as it did. When I enter the first letters
of the month, the month fills properly. However, when I space horizontally
the date no longer appears as it always has. The Auto Complet Text feature
is turned ON.

Check your auto date formating with the following steps.
- Open Insert menu - click Field
- Click Date and Time under Catagories
- Look under Field Names for Date and then choose your desired format under
Field Properties

Good luck!

What version of Word are you using and what date are you trying to complete?
In some versions, if you don't type the first letter of the month as a
capital letter then the AutoComplete for the date may not display after you
use AutoComplete to complete the month. In other versions you need to type
then entire month and disregard the first AutoComplete tip, press your
spacebar, and then you'll see the AutoComplete tip for the rest of the date.

Note that in all versions you need to type the first four characters of the
entry in order to trigger the AutoComplete tip. So if you're trying to use
AutoComplete for May, you'll need to type May and then type a space after
the month in order for the AutoComplete tip to display.
