Auto Numbering

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel I receive document that are created on a PC that have Auto Numbers in bullet form. Is there a way to convert the number in to plain text (lose the auto but keep the numbering and the tab).
We bring these in to Quark to layout and the auto numbering does not show up?

Cut the text, then Edit>Paste Special>"Unformatted Text".
