AutoCAD drawings linked to word 2000 document

Hi,
I'm trying to link AutoCAD(dwg) drawings into a word 2000
document to make a manual. I opened up the drawing in
AutoCAD, copied, paste special, paste link in word. I got
5 drawings linked into the document and word tells me that
the file has to many windows opened or there is not enough
room on disk. I'm working on a network, so I know there is
enough space available. Does anyone know the best way of
making a manual in word with the drawings linked to it?
Please help!
Tammy

You might be better off importing the drawings instead of
linking to them. If you can save them as r12 dxfs they
should import straight into word (depending on which type
of r12 dxf your software is producing. Strange though it
seems , they aren't all the same even from autodesk) where
they become word drawings and can be edited using word.

By doing this, will the drawings update in word when I
change the original drawing in AutoCAD?
