Automatic Resource Scheduling

Liz S.

Hello,

We use the same project plan over and over again (same tasks, same
resources, same durations). We use a resource pool to track resource
usage/overallocation. Is it possible to set up MS Project so that when I
start a new project, the dates are adjusted to the earliest possible start
dates for the resources selected without overallocating the resources?

Thanks!
Liz

Absolutely! But can you trust the result? Absolutely not!!!!

A computer has an IQ of aero and only knows a few things about the tasks,
resources and assignments. Project is therefore only able to use a very
simplistic algorithm to level Resources.

At best, set important tasks to priority 1000 (do not level) then let
project level rats and mice tasks around them. For important tasks you need
to manually level for good results.
