Back-Up files

I use Word 2000. Is there any way to specify where back-up files are to be
put? I don't really care for them in the same folder as the rest of the
files. It's quite a clutter!

Thanks

You can't specify it. See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/general/AutomaticSave.htm for an explanation.

If you keep the File > Open dialog set to "Word Documents" instead of "All
Files", you won't see the .wbk files.

I hadn't thought of the showing Word documents only instead of all. That
would help for sure. Thanks. Connie

But use "All Word Documents," since that will show documents, templates, and
other Word formats, not just .doc files.
