I am creating a powerpoint background but dont know what size to make it. What size should I make it? I have had several people tell me different things such as making it 800x600 and 960x720.

This is a great article, but still not sure on what size
to make the background. I am making a template that I will
sell. I would assume it will be used my many types of
users.

What is the default size of the powerpoint slides?

What is the size of the actual page that you work on? For
example, when you go to insert a new slide, what size is
the actual slide?

Does this also depend one your screen resolution? I
inserted an image that was 960x720 and it fits the whole
slide. If I was using a different resolution would the
slide that I was working be a different size?

Thanks for all the help.

Don't worry about what size PPT makes the image when you import it. If the
image is intended for full screen use in PPT on a 1024 x 768 monitor, then
that's the size you want to make the original image. If you don't know what
video resolution the screen show will eventually run at, you'll have to
compromise or make several versions; generally 1024x768 is a safe bet.

The rules are a bit different if you need to make printouts on a very high
resolution printer, but for most normal printing purposes, 1024x768 images
should be acceptable.

Just resize the image using any one of the "corner" handles to keep it in
proportion.
