Backup help

I am new to Macs & Entourage and I have a question about what to back up in
Entourage.

Recently I have been exporting an .RGE file and then copying it to an
external hard drive. It contains my contact, emails, calendar events, etc.

I recently read that if I back up the following folder that it will do the
same thing:

user folder/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 identities/Main
Identity

Is this correct? Is one better than the other?
I am using iBackup right now and adding the long folder to a backup set
seems easier.

Thanks for the help.

They are backing up the same data, but in different formats. If you look
inside a .rge file you will see emails, notes, tasks, calendar events
etc.The Entourage archive is a much smaller file than the Microsoft User
Data folder.

Your data is stored in the Microsoft User Data folder in your User¹s folder.
The database stores most of your data. There is no way to access the
individual files like you can in an Entourage archive file.

I like to use both Because it gives me more options in case there is
corruption in my data. See my tip on using FolderOrgX to organize your
backups chronologically.
