Best ways to show progress of a project

S

SAS

Each month we have to show a snapshot of progress of all projects to the US
Director. I have tried many different views even creating my own.
Any suggestions on how to show the progress comparing against last month
(ahead/behind).

I think you need to make the presentation as simple as possible.

Use Excel to track some key variables, like total duration, total work,
remaining duration, remaining work, percentage of tasks completed on time,
etc, and chart these key stats over time. Executives want to see how much
work remains, and how that has changed over time. They want to see if the
project is on track, on budget, and delivering what was promised. Show key
milestones, whether they were hit. Use green, yellow, and red; they
understand that. Don't hide what's really going on, or bury important
measures and stats in 8pt. fonts..

Again, make it as simple as possible . . .
