Calendar

I need to create a calendar in MS Project 2002 that includes custom fields &
baseline start & finish. When I create the calendar using Format, Bar
Styles, & select the specific fields, instead of getting a Baseline Start &
finish, I get durations. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

When you create a style in Bar Styles (I suspect that's what you're doing, I
never us ethe word calendar in this environment) be sure to put the right
values in the To and From cells.

I understand, but if I specify baseline start & baseline finish, I should get
two dates,(ex. 11/11/05-12/11/05) not just a duration (30 days).

Hi Kim,

To clarify, are you trying to show what appears on the table (left side of
the view) which shows text (task name, duration, start, finish etc) or the
graphic side?

I have never seen duration show up in the Format > Bar Styles dialog box.
Please give us some additional information about what you are trying to
achieve and the steps you have taken so far.

When in MS Project 2002, I want to see 4 specific fields of information in
the Calendar View. I click on View, Calendar, Format, Bar Styles, All, & then
select my 4 Text fields, two of which are baseline Start & Baseline Finish.
When I click on Okay, the Baseline Start/Finish is in the format of duration
(# of days), instead of date format.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for the clarification. I think I understand now what you are trying
to do.

I suggest not using the All bar styles list (as this may be causing data
such as the Duration field to remain on tasks). Select Non Critical task
type, delete and fields you don't want and make sure as you select the new
fields you enter a comma in between each field name. Repeat for Critical
tasks and see if that helps.

Hope this helps.
