can I save addresses to my Personal Folder instead of Contacts

L

LeicesLad

I see lots of instructions for saving addresses to my contacts folder, but
some times I want to save them to my personal folder instead, without
manually typing them in.
Has onyone got any ideas on this.
Thanks

Dear LeicesLad,

what do you mean with:

....some times I want to save them to my personal folder instead, without
manually typing them in.

I always have to type my addresses into my personal folder.

Do you want to move incoming emails into your contact folder to create
autommaticly the contact?

all I have to do to enter addresses into my Contacts, is to right click on
the address and click on add to contacts, and it's done.
I want to do the same for my personal address book.
This has nothing to do with saving mail, just Email addresses

Dear LeicesLad,

In your first email you wrote "my personal folder" not my "personal address
book". This is why i asked again, sorry.

I found this site with information for "How to manage the Personal
Addressbook and the Outlook Addressbook":
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/olconpab.htm

I hope it helps.

You should not be using the Personal Address Book. That feature has been
obsolete for years and years. Keep all your contacts in your Contacts
folder.

I don't like Contacts, but I do like the Personal Address Book.
There was until a few days ago a right click shortcut that had "Add to
Personal Address Book". This is now changed to "Add to Contacts."
I want the "Add to Personal Address Book" option back!
If I have both contacts and Personal Address book set up, I should be able
to add to both.
Just my 2c!

But you won't even have the option of using this obsolete store in upcoming
versions.
Abandon ship while there's still time!

I want an email address only, I do not want a contact. For me to add to
contacts, then add to a distribution list, then delete from contacts is hell
of a lot of work and is one issue leading to my decision to switch to ACT.

WHere would you store that address, if not in your Contacts folder?

Distributions Lists can certainly contain addresses not in your Contacts.
All you must do it type them in.
