Can I use old version on XP?

O

OzzieJoan

I have Publisher v.2.0 which I enjoyed using when I had Win95 and it also
worked on Win98. I had to uninstall it from my last computer as I ran out of
space. It isn't a programme that I use very often, but it was good to have.

Now I would like to know what I require to be able to run the programme on
XP Home.

I downloaded Pubhelp.exe from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/119591/EN-US/
and this has popped 3 .dll files onto my desktop. They are FT Engine, FTUI
and MVAPI. With these three files can I now install my old Publisher and use
it as before, please?

Do hope someone can help.

In my experience when you install the old Publisher, your best avenue is to do
it in safe mode. Disable any anti-virus software you may have.

You might have to use the compatibility feature. Right-click the program icon,
properties, compatibility tab.

This is the file you really need, it is 2.0 help files.
