Cannot open existing file

I have problem accessing my existing file. When I double click on .doc file, the Word 2003 will display this message "The requested file is unavailable". What does the "unavailable" means? I copied that file and try to open from another computer, and it works fine. So, I tried to create a new document and save it as test.doc. The was succesfully saved in my computer, but when I tried to open the test.doc file again, the same message pops up. Please advice

If you use Norton AV, in Norton go to Options and in the Miscellaneous
section turn off "Enable Office Plug-in"
