Can't delete from 'in box'.

When I try to delete an item from my in box it only does a strikeout
leaving the item in place but with a line through it. I've looked
through all of the options but can't see where this problem is
addressed.

Any help is appreciated.

It's not a problem. It's how IMAP accounts work. If you don't want to see
them, click View>Arrange By>Current View>Hide Messages Marked for Deletion.
(Depending on your Outlook version, that menu path may be slightly
different. Always state your Outlook version when posting.)
