can't get my outlook to type message

When sending emails....it won't show the type (either
when I type or when I am sending).

There is also a little box w/ a red x in the lower right
corner ... does anyone know what is happening?

Hi - what version of Outlook do you use? What kind of mail server do you
connect to? (as in, POP server, Exchange, etc) Are you having problems
displaying what you type in other applications? More info from you might
help us help you...

The red X in the lower right hand corner means Outlook is working offline.
