Can't Insert Pictures

J

Jim

Using Word 2003.

When we try to insert a picture from a file into a Word doc, a placeholder
displays, but not the picture. If we click outside of the placeholder, we
see nothing. You couldn't tell there was a picture there if you hadn't put
one there yourself. But when it prints, everything is printed!

This also happens in Publisher 2003.

In Tools - Options - View tab, the Picture Placeholders is unchecked. This
works ok for the other pc's here.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, same here. I just posted my beef above yours...pretty sick how
they screwed up Word now.

Ironically type "image placeholder" in Help and get a tip about
Microsoft Security...oh not about the picture, but how to digitally
sign a document...???

Sorry for the double post, figured out how to show images...

STUPID STUPID STUPID MICROSOFT...

1. Click on the image.
2. Picture Tools tab shows up out of the blue on the top...what, menu
bar?
3. Click on Format
4. Click on TEXT WRAPPING.

Found out the hard way, I went via the "Arrange Advanced Layout"
(little pop up window when clicking on the bottom right arrow), then
selected Text Wrapping, Square...

Oh, have to do this every time you insert a picture...doesn't stay that
way by default now, and if you insert two pictures in the same page,
the newer one overlaps the older one, make sure you move it

STUPID STUPID STUPID...Microsoft has gone and wrecked a good product.
